1879 - Frank Winfield WOOLWORTH opened a five-and-dime store in Utica, New York.

1888 - Scotsman John Reid first demonstrated the game of GOLF to Americans in Yonkers, New York.

1956 - ELVIS PRESLEY'S classic "HEARTBREAK HOTEL" became his first Top-10 single.


1980 - Malcolm McLaren and ADAM ANT had a falling out and Adam was forcibly separated from the original Ants. Adam formed a new group of Ants while McLaren turned the original band into BOW WOW WOW.


1980 - The MIRACLE ON ICE occurred when the United States FINALLY beat the Soviet Union in hockey, winning by a score of four to three in the 13TH WINTER OLYMPICS in Lake Placid, New York.

1986 - D.L. HUGHLEY married his wife LaDonna. Today is their 22nd Anniversary.

New In Theaters This Weekend-

"Vantage Point" - starring Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox (Jack on "Lost"), Forest Whitaker, Sigourney Weaver and William Hurt. (PG-13) Eight strangers witness an assassination attempt on the president and share their eight different viewpoints to help uncover a conspiracy behind the shooting.


"Witless Protection" - a comedy starring Larry the Cable Guy as a small town sheriff who "rescues" Jenny McCarthy from four men, only to find out that they were FBI agents assigned to protect her and he's just stolen their key witness. (PG-13)


$25 Pyramid- Scott played this morning and they got all 5! The jackpot goes to $25 for Monday's game.



Bruce Vilanch and Sid Ganis- Bruce is the head writer for the Academy Awards and Sid is the President of the Motion Picture Association. We had them on again this year leading up the the Awards show and they were hilarious as usual. You can hear them again tomorrow morning on the Best of Scott and Erica Show from 6-10 am.
