Goodbye For Now

OK, after 212 blog posts and a daily average of 10 viewers, it's time to move on to a different form of blogging. While I greatly appreciate the few of you that visit daily, spending over an hour on this daily is really limiting my time at the station. However, with that said, my blog will now continue at http://www.mix1051.com/ and type in keyword morning. There I will be posting daily topics or info on guests that are featured on the Scott and Erica Show. Thanks for the 212 days of reading my posts and see you at mix1051.com

Orlando Magic-

YOUR Orlando Magic are 1-0 so far in the first round of the playoffs! They destroyed the Raptors Sunday afternoon at the Amway Arena. The crazy thing, I saw a bunch of empty seats at the game! There were $6 seats available the day of the game, so it's not like anyone can say it's too expensive to go to the game. Come on Orlando, get behind your team! How Did You Get Here?

No, I don't need the birds and the bees speech or the stork brought you. We were wondering this morning how you got to Orlando? My wife is one of a very small group that was born and raised in Orlando. I moved here when I was 2 with my family from Baltimore because of my dad's job change. It's interesting to head why people decided to move here. We got calls from chasing that guy or girl here for marriage, to Froggy that came to Disney and decided to stay. How did you end up here?

$25 Pyramid- Erica played this morning and they got 2 out of 5. The jackpot goes to $55 for tomorrow's game.

American Idol-

Last night was Mariah Carey night and I though everyone did ok. My favorite was David Cook and Jason Castro. I though Syesha did very well too. David Archuleta was good, but safe. Brooke looked like a deer in headlights and Kristy Lee kept making faces like something stunk, it could have been her singing. My prediction, the bottom 3 will be Carly, Brooke, and Kristy Lee and Carly will be voted off tonight. We'll see, the results show is tonight at 9:00 on Fox and Mariah Carey will be performing.

Ticked Off-

What do you think about the kids on a leash? Every now and then you'll see one at the mall with mom and dad following closely behind. I totally get that you're trying to keep your child safe and you're doing it for good and not for bad. But I just can't get behind it 100%. Is it better than losing your child or having them run off and you have to chase them in a crowded store, sure. But a caller this morning said kids don't want to hold your hand and they don't want to ride in strollers. My feeling is I'm the parent and if I say to hold my hand for safety reasons, then no questions asked, hold my hand. If I need to put you in a stroller because it will be very crowded and not safe for my kids, then get in the stroller. And I know that kids wander and get excited and want to run off. But it's my job as a parent to watch them closely and if I feel like I might be distracted, then put them in the stroller, carry them, or hold their hand. It just seems a little strange putting your child on a leash. Again, not trying to offend anyone that does it, just my opinion.

$25 Pyramid- I played again today and we got 3 out of 5. $10 rolls over to tomorrow's game, making the jackpot $35.

American Idol- My opinion of last nights Idol, the worst episode ever. I get the whole "feel-good" and "family-friendly" approach, but the whole inspirational theme was a little boring. With the millions of mega hits out there for these kids to sing, they have them go down that road. Just let them pick whatever they want or at least make the songs more recognizable to the viewers.

My favorites from last night were Syesha, Michael, and Jason. The guy I want to win, David Cook, was horrible last night. Tonight is a 2 1/2 hour "Idol Gives Back" special and tomorrow night we'll see who gets voted off the show.
