On this day-

1942 - During World War Two, GENERAL DOUGLAS MACARTHUR left the Philippines for Australia. Upon leaving, he said, "I shall return." He did, three years later.

1970 - At the Grammys, THE 5TH DIMENSION won Record of the Year for "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" and BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS won Album of the Year for their self-titled album. THE ISLEY BROTHERS won Best R&B Performance for "It's Your Thing" and CROSBY, STILLS & NASH was named Best New Artist.


1972 - "THE GODFATHER" PREMIERED


1991 - JANET JACKSON signed a $32 million deal with Virgin Records for two albums. One of those parties got ripped off. I'll let you guess which one.



1993 - JANET RENO was unanimously confirmed by the Senate to be Attorney General


1997 - PAUL MCCARTNEY was knighted by Queen Elizabeth the 2nd

"No Country for Old Men" - starring Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones. It's about a guy who takes $2 million from the dead bodies at a drug deal gone bad and then spends the rest of the movie being chased by (Best Supporting Actor winner) Javier Bardem.


"Dan in Real Life" - a romantic comedy starring Steve Carell as a guy who falls for a woman only to then find out that she's his brother's girlfriend and they have to spend a weekend together at a family reunion. It also stars Juliette Binoche and Dane Cook.



"August Rush" - starring "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's" Freddie Highmore as a kid on a quest to find his birth parents, who both think he died years earlier. It also stars Keri Russell, Robin Williams, Terrence Howard and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.


"Sleuth" - a remake starring Michael Caine as an aging writer who invites Jude Law to his country estate to confront him about stealing his wife.


"Bee Movie" - an animated flick starring Jerry Seinfeld as a bee who decides to SUE HUMANS for stealing honey to eat. Renee Zellweger is a human florist who befriends him. Matthew Broderick, Chris Rock and John Goodman are also in it.








$25 Pyramid- Scott played today and they got 2 out of 5. The jackpot goes to $50 for tomorrow's game.
