GO MAGIC!
Last night was my first game of the season as the PA Announcer for the Orlando Magic. It was a great game last night with the home team snagging the victory over the Charlotte Bobcats 123-99. As a lifelong fan of the Magic and a former player, coach, and referee of the game, it's a dream come true to sit court side and announce. Lots of energy last night with the "new look" Magic! It's going to be a very exciting season with the addition of Rashard Lewis and Coach Stan Van Gundy. Tomorrow night they take on the Miami Heat at the Amway Arena at 7:00. This is Van Gundy's former team, so it should be fun for him.

Battle of the Sexes- The women won today and lead 116-80. The ladies are 5 wins away from winning for the year.

Ticked Off-Here are some of the entries from this morning's Ticked Off Column...

Someone was ticked off at the lady that let one fly on the plane. Oops, try doing that in the bathroom! The other ticked was Scott mad at how short left turn lights are. It's true! Think when you're turning left at an intersection, you know at any moment it's going to turn yellow on you. So, what do you do? We all speed up! We ride the person's bumper in front of us cause we know that if we don't make the light, we're going to be stuck sitting there for another 5 minutes. Or you get the idiots that just run the light and don't care if they almost cause an accident. We need a little more time on the left turn signals.

Mayor Buddy Dyer-Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer came into the studio this morning to see his favorite morning show! He came in this morning to talk about his "State of Downtown" last week and the development plans for Orlando. If you'd like to read more about the plan, you can go to http://cityoforlando.net/elected/mayor/speeches/stateofdwntwn07.htm

$25 Pyramid-I played today and we got 4 out of 5

Here's a poll from CNN on the Top 10 Things that would make an employer throw out your resume:

#1.) SPELLING AND GRAMMAR MISTAKES. This is HUGE, because it shows how much you pay attention to detail. If there's even the tiniest error, your resume will probably be trashed. Re-read everything before you send it out.

#2.) YOUR OPENING OBJECTIVE. You can't just have some generic statement like, "I'm hoping to obtain employment that utilizes my skills." That doesn't cut it. Make it clear what you want. . . and how you can help them.

#3.) GIVING PERSONAL INFORMATION. There's really no need to list your height, weight, age. . . or provide a picture.

#4.) LISTING YOUR INTERESTS. If your hobbies or interests have absolutely nothing to do with the job you're applying for. . . leave them out.

#5.) WRITING EVERY DETAIL OF EVERY JOB YOU'VE EVER HAD. This is just way too much information for people to take in. Employers want to be able to take one look at your resume and get a clear idea of your responsibilities.

#6.) EXCESSIVE BRAGGING. It's cool to list the things you've done to help out past companies. . . but don't overdo it. . . because you don't want the employers to think you're full of yourself.

#7.) OUTDATED INFORMATION. Leave off activities and jobs that you did in high school. . . and completely omit jobs you had 10 or more years ago. . . because the info is probably irrelevant to the position you're applying for now.

#8.) FALSE INFORMATION. It's okay to list something like "service professional" instead of "waiter" on a resume, since that's pretty minor. --But don't lie about your qualifications or something that can easily be checked out. . . like where you went to school or what degrees you have.

#9.) UNEXPLAINED GAPS IN JOB HISTORY. It may look a little shady if you took some 10 YEARS off between jobs. Make sure to explain whatever the circumstance was for the gap.

#10.) LACKING PROFESSIONALISM. Don't use colored paper, strange fonts. . . or childish e-mail addresses. Keep things as professional as possible.

It's time for a sneak peek into tomorrow's issue of Us Weekly with Senior Writer Joey Bartolomeo!

Cover-

Jennifer Lopez: Yes, She's Pregnant. Multiple sources confirm she is about four months pregnant. Her mother has been telling people it's twins. She doesn't want to expose her private life and will let her waistline speak for itself. People on her tour are not allowed to talk about the pregnancy around Marc and Jennifer.

Britney: Family to the Rescue!Reunited with her mom after Britney called her (music producer Dallas Austin helped bring them together). The goal is to get her back into rehab. She didn't see her kids for a scheduled visit -- a Federline friend says it was because Brit was a mess from partying the night before (but she saw them another day). She applied for a job as a bartender at a Santa Monica hotel.

Pam Anderson's surprise wedding-She married Rick Salomon (from the Paris Hilton sex tape). They have a lot in common: two ex spouses (his second wife was Shannen Doherty, their kids are the same ages).

Lance Bass book excerpt: "I felt completely betrayed."Writes about Timberlake's decision to go solo. Justin blamed Nsync's breakup on Lance and Joey Fatone's failed movie "On the Line" -- he thought it wasn't in the best interest of the band.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden house-hunting in the suburbs. She's accompanying him on tour in Australia. She was spotted taking an alcohol education class.

Contrary to Internet rumors, Angelina Jolie did not see her father, Jon Voight, in NYC last weekend (though he was at the Waldorf-Astoria where she's living).

TOMORROW MORNING! Rob Thomas and Paul Ducette of Matchbox 20 in our studio at 8:30, don't miss their LIVE performance!
