1867 - "Harper's Bazaar" magazine was first published.

1955 - TENNESSEE ERNIE FORD'S incredible "Sixteen Tons" first appeared on the "Billboard" charts. It was one of the fastest-selling records of all-time, selling over four million copies.

1963 - DION (--of "Teenager in Love" fame) stormed off stage during a live taping of the British television show "Ready, Steady Go". . . after complaining that the show's go-go dancers were distracting him.


1966 - X-rays detected a cancerous spot on WALT DISNEY'S left lung. He died a month later.





1981 - ED ASNER was elected president of the Screen Actors Guild.

1983 - MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY finally became a federal holiday.




1985 - STEVIE WONDER's "Part-Time Lover" hit #1 on the pop singles chart, making him the first artist to have a single on FIVE DIFFERENT "Billboard" charts.

"Bee Movie" - an animated flick starring the voices of Jerry Seinfeld, Renée Zellweger, Matthew Broderick, Chris Rock, Patrick Warburton and John Goodman. (PG)

Jerry Seinfeld plays a bee who abandons the hive and ventures out into the "human world" where he finds out that humans can buy honey from the store. So, he tries to SUE THEM for stealing it. Renee Zellweger is a human florist who befriends him. The Official Site: http://www.beemovie.com/

"Martian Child" - starring John Cusack, Amanda Peet and Joan Cusack. (PG)
John Cusack plays a widowed science fiction writer who adopts a young boy that likes to pretend to be from Mars. "American Gangster" - starring Denzel Washington as a drug kingpin in the '70s and Russell Crowe as a cop determined to do whatever it takes to bring him down. It also stars Cuba Gooding Jr., RZA (of the Wu-Tang Clan), T.I. and Common. (R)

Glenn Richards-The FOX35 Chief Meteorologist had nothing but great things to say about the weather this weekend! He said get ready for cooler temperatures, less humidity, and NO RAIN! Expect high's in the upper 70's and low's in the 60's! Overall, he gave the weekend weather a 9.


Steve Carell-Oh yeah, big time actor Steve Carell joined us this morning! You know him from 40 Year Old Virgin, The Office, and now Dan In Real Life.
